The mission of BID 32 is to drive connections and leverage opportunity the Lindsay Heights and Midtown neighborhoods.

We provide resources, connections, and support to businesses, developers, property owners, nonprofit organizations, and other stakeholders working to establish, grow, and expand thriving enterprises!

2025 Operating Plan Goals

Following the hiring of a new BID Manager in 2024, BID 32 has set three overarching goals:

Create a vibrant commercial corridor that supports pedestrian-oriented commercial development, job growth, and local entrepreneurship.

Focus on beautification, blight reduction, and environmental remediation to attract and retain businesses.

Enhance safety and security by strengthening communication with the Milwaukee Police Department (District 3).

What’s a BID?

In 1984, the Wisconsin state legislature created a statute enabling cities to establish Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) that

“allow businesses within those districts to develop, manage, and promote the districts and to establish an assessment method to fund these activities.”

Financial Support:

Expand the Loan and Grant Program to provide financial assistance to BID 32 businesses.

Infrastructure & Maintenance Streamline communication with the Department of Public Works.

Community Advocacy Create direct channels with the person for effective reporting of concerns.

Safety & Surveillance Implement a comprehensive safety plan in collaboration with the North Avenue Community Ambassador Program.

Security Upgrades Install solar-powered cellular cameras to deter vandalism in vacant buildings.

Crime Prevention Work with Milwaukee Police Department and DPW to address nuisance properties.

Beautification & Functionality Maintain and improve commercial corridors with streetscape project

Development & Planning Update the 2019 Lindsay Heights Charette to reflect current priorities, focusing on Sears Marketplace.

Entrepreneurial Growth Support an economic ecosystem with ongoing programs and resources.
