NEIGHBORHOOD

SAFETY

Businesses flourish in neighborhoods that are safe, secure, clean, and cared for by all stakeholders.

BID 32 builds relationships, hosts and participates in community meetings and events, and provides key leadership to ensure clean, beautiful, and safe streets.

Town Hall Meetings

Town Hall Meetings provide time for residents, business owners, and stakeholders in Lindsay Heights to come together to share updates, discuss concerns, and collaborate on solutions for a safer, thriving neighborhood.

Join us to find out how YOU can make our neighborhood more beautiful, safe, and clean at a monthly Community Ambassador Meeting

  • WHEN: FOURTH Monday of every month EXCEPT December @ 6pm

  • WHERE: St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care - 2450 W. North Avenue

Cleanup Initiatives

Quarterly Neighborhood Cleanup events bring residents and BID partners together to meet, have fun, and work together to keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful!

  • WHEN: In warm weather months, we meet weekly with our Community Ambassadors for shorter 2 or 3-hour mini-cleanups.

  • WHERE: Check back soon for the Spring/Summer 2025 weekly schedule and clean-up locations.

Community Relations

BID 32 works closely with our local Police District #3 to build meaningful connections and positive relationships between police and area businesses, neighbors, and other stakeholders.

We are fortunate to have several Community Liaison Officers from the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) District 3.

These officers get to know our specific community needs, build personal one-on-one relationships with residents and stakeholders, and are available to help deal with nuisance issues or start Block Watches in the neighborhoods.

Community Liaison Officers can be reached at (414) 935-7733 and include the following individuals:

  • Officer Ordlyn Sanders

  • Officer Jonathon Cruz

  • Officer Demetrious Hudson

  • Officer Jasmine King

Crime and Safety Meetings

This is a monthly opportunity to meet with officers in our district to discuss challenges, solutions, and how we can all keep BID 32 a safe and secure place where residents, businesses, and stakeholders thrive.

  • WHEN: LAST Thursday of each month at 5:30 pm

  • WHERE: District 3, 2333 N. 49th St.

Coffee with a Cop

Grab a FREE coffee and chat with various District 3 officers to learn more about what’s going on in the neighborhood and how MPD can help.

  • WHEN: SECOND Saturday of the month from 9 - 10:30 am

  • WHERE: McDonald’s at 6409 W. Blue Mound.

Community Ambassadors

North Avenue Community Ambassador Program (NCAP) connects businesses, residents, and resources to improve safety, visibility, and community well-being.

Exemplifying the power of community collaboration, NCAP creates opportunities to drive lasting change and revitalization in BID 32. Since spring 2024, ambassadors have:

  • engaged over 180 community members

  • distributed vital resource materials

  • completed 40+ beautification projects

Neighborhood Improvement Districts (NID)

Neighborhood Improvement Districts (NID) are key partners in enhancing and revitalizing the BID 32 area.

By working together, we build meaningful connections between homeowners, renters, developers, and businesses so that our goals of a prosperous community align and move forward!

Based on a 3-year community-based planning effort, this plan sets out priorities for strengthening neighborhood housing, business, retail, industrial, transportation, recreational and cultural assets. The Plan promotes investment and provides guidance for public and private development by building on the momentum created by recent revitalization activities and current neighborhood assets, including: close proximity to downtown, easy access to freeways and major bus routes, historic and architectural charm, and most importantly, dedicated and active neighborhood associations.
